Approved Courses for the Majors & Minor
The Architecture Department provides studio, lecture, seminar, and project-based courses that can be counted toward the majors and minor in architecture. Courses taught in the Department are often supplemented by courses taught in other schools, departments and programs in the University such as the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP), the Art History Departments of both Barnard College and Columbia University, and the Urban Studies Program at Barnard College. These courses are taken primarily to fulfill the lecture, seminar, and workshop requirements in the major.
Each semester, our department reviews all of the course offerings and publishes a list of classes that may satisfy the architecture major and minor requirements. These lists are available below.
